Having some fun this week going through our copies of Vesalius to find images for our next coloring book!
Every February since 2016, the New York Academy of Medicine has been running #ColorOurCollections, a fun little exercise where institutions around the world contribute coloring pages made from items in their collections.
You can see all the coloring books submitted here and you can find our book there or you can grab it right here!
We went through and picked some our favorites from past years of #ColorOurCollections — I’m particularly fond of these two.
Because it’s time for #ColorOurCollections 2018!
You can get a look at all the offerings and don’t forget to grab ours!
—all in one place in our #ColorOurCollections2017 .pdf coloring book. We’d love to see pictures of any of our images you color up — you can email them to us at medicalheritage@gmail.org or tag us on Twitter @MedicalHeritage.
We’re very excited to be working on our pages for #ColorOurCollections 2017!
Get your crayons and colored pencils ready! #ColorOurCollections will be back Feb 6-10, 2017. Institutions, more info to come. pic.twitter.com/pdIsDiuZnU

If you’d like something to work on ’til February, check out NYAM’s Pinterest gathering of coloring pages — blank and completed by artists!
There was also this very interesting piece from Jill O’Neill at the Scholarly Kitchen with some thoughts about the inaugural #ColorOurCollections: What #ColorOurCollections Suggests.
